Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Steel Tubulars
EPD: Using our LCA we can calculate our Carbon Footprint and Embodied Carbon Savings
As environmental awareness grows, comparing the environmental impacts of products and services is more important than ever. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is through a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and by investing in an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
An EPD follows a globally recognised standard that presents transparent, verified data on the environmental performance of a product throughout its life cycle. It allows for accurate, like-for-like comparisons between similar products, making it the most credible way to disclose environmental impact information.
At John Lawrie Tubulars, our EPDs reflect our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our products and services. By achieving internationally recognised EPD verification, we are able to present objective, third-party verified data that supports full transparency. This empowers our customers to make informed, responsible choices when selecting materials for their projects.
As part of our analysis, we assessed one full year of pipe procurement, manufacturing, and delivery to client project sites. Working alongside expert consultants and third-party verifiers, we calculated the carbon emissions associated with one tonne of repurposed pipe and fabricated products made in our facilities. This “functional unit” — one tonne — provides a consistent baseline for comparing our products against other EPDs, alternative materials, or conventional steel options.
