Congratulations to the Florø junior teams for winning Gold and Silver at the Norway Cup!
We support these teams to enable them to take part, to remove some of the financial burden for the families and contribute to the clubs running costs to encourage the club to improve facilities/services. Our support for the Florø junior teams enabled them to compete in The Norway Cup. The event gathers thousands of participants from around the world for a week of fun, friendship, sport and international/cultural exchange. Last year saw 2183 teams from 34 nations compete, the competition is real. Whilst we do not support these teams for their ability, we are immensely proud of their achievement, it’s a great result!
Why do we support Grassroots Football?
Grassroots football is more than just a sport; it encourages personal growth, community development, and social change. The benefits extend far beyond the pitch, impacting physical and mental health, social cohesion, economic vitality, and cultural inclusion. Investing in grassroots football can yield significant long-term benefits for individuals and society as a whole.
Grassroots football is often described as the foundation of the sport and its primary aim is to increase participation for all levels of players. We are proud to be in a position to be able to support several grassroots teams both local to Montrose and further afield, including several of the Florø junior teams (G15/16 boys and J13/14 girls). These teams focus on the love of the game and the joy of participation.
