Using John Lawrie Tubulars’ repurposed tubular products and bespoke procedures saved this project 1575.42 tonnes CO2e. That’s a 97.21% saving over the production of new prime steel products.
Project Summary
John Lawrie Tubulars supplied 339mm OD and 244.5mm OD steel piles to Aarsleff Ground Engineering for installation. The piles were installed as foundations for a distribution warehouse in Northampton.
Project Challenges
The project utilised upto 4nr piling rigs to be able to deliver the installation within a challenging 11 week timeframe. John Lawrie Tubulars helped us overcome programme constraints by supplying the required steel quantities at short notice to deliver the project on time.
The majority of the site was precast piles however steel tubular piles were used for braced bay locations as the building loads in the braced bay positions exceeded the precast pile capabilities and therefore steel tubes had to be utilised for these sections.
