Managing Director

Iain Laing is a highly respected and dedicated managing director. His unparalleled knowledge of the steel tubular industry has been a driving force behind John Lawrie Tubulars (UK) for the past 28 years. Iain started at John Lawrie Tubulars at the age of 18, and with nearly three decades of service he has been fundamental in the expansion of the business into both the UK and Europe.

Iain’s foresight to commission a Life Cycle Analysis has led to developing a zero to landfill yard process, increased manufacturing capabilities, developing new patented technologies and winning a Queens Award for sustainability. Iain’s leadership inspires his team and his policy to encourage personal development has resulted in creating a happy, longstanding workforce. Outside of work Iain is a keen fisherman, he also enjoys spending time with his family and walking his dog.

Iain Bell has been part of JLT for over 10 years, commencing their journey in the Weighbridge department before transitioning to sales about seven years ago. Iain’s daily tasks involve the day to day running of our Montrose and Scunthorpe facilities, as well as managing international sales. Iain Bell plays a key role in arranging the collection and processing of purchased materials and contribute to marketing efforts. In his spare time he enjoys long rides on his motorbike and spending time with his family
