John Lawrie Tubulars is a specialist company supplying steel tubulars, both new and repurposed surplus pipe, for the construction, piling and geotechnical markets. The business was founded c. 1981 and now supplies steel tubular products throughout the UK, Europe and North America.

JLT’s UK/European base is in Montrose, Scotland which is comprised of a busy yard, offices and custom built machine shop – a second operational yard facility is located in Scunthorpe, England.

Our Journey

What we do

  • Supply of steel tubulars for piling: JLT provide tubular steel (casing, pipe) suitable for piling, micro-piling, helical piles etc.

  • Repurposing steel: JLT takes surplus/used tubulars (for example from the oil & gas industry) and re-uses/re-purposes them for piling/construction applications.

  • Fabrication / value-added services: JLT offers services like cutting to length, welding, threading, inspection, cleaning, end-forming etc.

Our Climate Journey

John Lawrie Tubulars repurposes surplus steel pipe from around the globe. This saves CO2 emissions that would be generated by the returning of the surplus pipe to steel mills for re-melting, a process that includes transportation, handling, and cutting to re-enter the melt stream.
